Labuh Sesaji Ceremony

Labuh Sesaji is a village clean ceremony performed as a form of gratitude for the sustenance that God has given. The ceremony is also a repudiation of reinforcements and at the same time commemorating the formation of the Sarangan Lake. The ceremony is carried out during the month of ruwah or just before fasting.

The offerings that are anchored are in the form of a giant "tumpeng" that will be recited in a large tree. After the ritual of reading the prayer is finished, the offerings are made into the middle of the Sand Lake or Sarangan Lake.

Punden is a sacred place in which there is a large tree. This punden is usually used for the ritual of reciting prayers before the Labuh Sesaji ceremony is held. This punden is believed to contain Danyang, Danyang is the guardian of this punden. The dancers in the punden are Ki Pasir and Nyi Pasir.
